Low Nocturnal Temperature Alters Tomato Foliar and Root Phosphorus Fractions Allocation by Reducing Soil Phosphorus Availability

چکیده
Low nocturnal temperature (LNT) is a major constraint for protected tomato production in China during winter and spring, which leads to phosphorus (P) deficiency symptoms. The soil P fractions reflect availability. foliar root the adaptation strategies of tomatoes LNT. However, relationship between plant under LNT not well understood. Therefore, we conducted 40-day indoor incubation experiment with four temperatures (15, 12, 9 6 °C). Tomato growth status, were determined. Then, structural equation model (SEM) was used analyze direct and/or indirect effects on fractions, shoot dry weight (SDW). results showed that decreased availability by decreasing labile increasing moderately P. inorganic P, metabolite nucleic acid residual °C. lipid decreased, while increased fraction allocation directly influenced increase decline SDW decrease In conclusion, affects reducing availability, limits matter tomatoes.

Does Soil Disturbance Affect Soil Phosphorus Fractions?
Increased turnover of organic matter as a result of soil disturbance (e.g. by soil tillage) is described in principle, but the direct influence of soil disturbance on soil P turnover especially for organic farming systems has not been sufficiently proven. The objective of the study was to evaluate the short term effect of soil disturbance on different soil P fractions in a soil shaking experime...
متن کاملRuzigrass affecting soil‐phosphorus availability
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effectiveness of ruzigrass (Urochloa ruziziensis) in enhancing soil‐P availability in areas fertilized with soluble or reactive rock phosphates. The area had been cropped for five years under no‐till, in a system involving soybean, triticale/black‐oat, and pearl millet. Previously to the five‐year cultivation period, corrective phosphorus fertiliza...
متن کاملSugar signaling in root responses to low phosphorus availability.
Over the last decade, major advances have been made in our understanding of how plants sense, signal, and respond to soil phosphorus (P) availability (Amtmann et al., 2006; White and Hammond, 2008; Nilsson et al., 2010; Yang and Finnegan, 2010; Vance, 2010; George et al., 2011). Previously, we have reviewed the potential for shoot-derived carbohydrate signals to initiate acclimatory responses i...
متن کاملRelationship between photosynthetic phosphorus-use efficiency and foliar phosphorus fractions in tropical tree species
How plants develop adaptive strategies to efficiently use nutrients on infertile soils is an important topic in plant ecology. It has been suggested that, with decreasing phosphorus (P) availability, plants increase photosynthetic P-use efficiency (PPUE) (i.e., the ratio of instantaneous photosynthetic carbon assimilation rate per unit foliar P). However, the mechanism to increase PPUE remains ...
متن کاملRecovering phosphorus from soil: a root solution?
value of the current global soil P resource is appreciating the range of complexed P forms in soil and their specific issues for crop P accessibility. Soil organic P is especially poorly considered in terms of amounts and future utility. Learning to better utilize all of the different residual P forms in soil is essential to providing a sustainable cycle between agricultural inputs and plant up...
